Job Description

Family & Children's Place has a full-time opening for Director-Head Start Home-Based Services.  The Director of (EHS) Home-Based Services will coordinate and direct program and administrative services for the Home Based programs. General responsibilities include supervision and management of all Home-Based supervisors, overall supervision and guidance of all program operations, and ensuring full compliance with all Early Head Start Home-Based program performance standards, state and local licensing regulations.

The Director of EHS Home-Based Services will provide the program with vision and leadership, and ensure management functions are properly carried out.  This position utilizes trauma-informed evidence based practices and policies in its service delivery.


This position provides staff training and development, coaching and mentoring.

Implements policies and procedures for the home-based portion of the program with parents, staff, and F&CP and its subcontractors supporting the effective implementation of the education content area.

Oversees preparation of lesson plans, including individual plans for each child including goal setting based on identified needs.

Work with homebased visitors throughout the year to identify family goals, strengths, necessary services and supports.

Supervises assigned department personnel.


Prior experience with Headstart programming is a must. In addition:

Master's degree in Early Childhood Education, Social Work, or related field with at least five to seven years' experience working with families and children, of which three years must be at the management level, or

Bachelor's degree in related field with at least eight years' experience working with families and children, of which three years must be at the management level.

Criminal Background Check, Child Abuse and Neglect check, pre-employment drug and TB screens.
